Rockhound to Tombstone, AZ

We had a leisurely morning and made it to Willcox, AZ by lunchtime.  We had an interesting meal at a newly opened and not quite finished corner restaurant.  Drove on to Tombstone, just to say we'd been there.  Actually, it was much more interesting than anticipated.  We did a trolley tour of the town, learned a little history, visited the local courthouse, sampled the wares at the Crystal Palace Saloon, and scouted out a dinner spot.

Of all the stagecoaches in town, this one was probably the most interesting.  It is an original coach that ran on the Overland Trail.

There were the expected cast of characters..plus a few more.

Like this guy who really liked to pose.

..

This place--outside the fence--is where the gunfight actually occurred.  We missed the reenactment, but it didn't seem to matter.  We met plenty of characters, checked out interesting shops, and had dinner at the Longhorn Restaurant.
A nice walk around town with Hobbes in the evening and our day was done.
