Day 4 Summer adventure '12

No more photos of that beautiful pool at Balmorhea as intended.  We left in the rain.  The clouds were ominous  

through much of the day.   The winds were very strong.  We came through some hard rain, but missed the hail by a few minutes.  Lucky us!

Stopped in El Paso at the Saddleblanket Co.  That made for good shopping!  Jim even made a couple of purchases, so you know it was good!

Very late lunch, then on to Rockhound State Park.  With three choices, why do you think Jim thought I would want to stay here?  Sometimes, he just does remarkably well.

It is a beautiful site, regardless of which way one looks...

But, it was cold!  We brought out the sweat shirts and still had to go in well before sundown.

The park has beautiful plants, many of which are labeled for the botanically impaired.
The barrel cactus, top center, has to be the biggest I have ever encountered.

Overall, another lovely day.
