Well, it has been a lovely winter. I played harp and flutes for a musicale in January. In February, Jim and I presented "Jim reads the poetry of W. B. Yeats", accompanied by my singing of some appropriately interspersed Irish ballads.
The end of February brought two one act plays which I directed. All presentations were deemed successful!
These are the fabulous roses presented to me by the great cast!
Late winter found us traveling to Weatherford, Tx with our Airstream. It was destined for repairs. We recovered it in March and managed a connect with our Texas Highland Lakes Airstream unit on the way.
Later, we got more repairs completed, including the de-electrification of the body of the Airstream . We decided to go for it and installed a cork floor. All improvements should prove themselves as we journey forth for the summer.
Early in April, we co-hosted the Rally at the Fleming ranch near Cherokee, TX.
We had a truly grand time! Thanks once more, Windy and Shirley!
We continue to work toward our departure date. Today, we completed a project I have had in mind for years. Thanks to Windy and his generosity and graciousness, we were able to find a cedar stump that was just right for completing the table I had envisioned. Daddy and I used a cross cut saw to make the slice from a fallen oak tree in their yard. Daddy had made a table of it, but not the table I had in mind. Today, we were able to put it all together!
We are in the throes of selecting what will travel with us for the summer, getting packing completed, and making multiple rounds of doctor visits, dental appointments, and just general "stuff" to be done prior to our summer departure.
Meanwhile, we have enjoyed spring here at the resort.
The mesquites have proved a green backdrop to our patio, even though the drought has intensified and we are on water restrictions.
I will prepare to post more frequently once we are "on the road again" in a couple of weeks.
